Where can I book a Northern Lights Photography Tour in Rovaniemi?

You can book a Northern Lights Photography Tour directly with us — a local Lapland company specialising in small‑group aurora hunting and real Arctic experiences. Our tours are designed for travellers who want more than a simple “aurora viewing.” We focus on photography, real guiding, and finding clear skies even when the weather is challenging.

Many visitors don’t realise that seeing the Northern Lights in Rovaniemi is not guaranteed by staying in one place. The aurora is a natural phenomenon that depends on solar activity, cloud cover, and local micro‑weather, which can change quickly. This is why experienced guides are essential. We check multiple weather models, monitor live cameras, and drive to different areas — sometimes even to Sweden — to give you the best chance to see and photograph the lights.

Another thing travellers often don’t know is that the aurora can appear faint to the naked eye, especially during low activity. A camera, however, can capture colours and details that the human eye cannot. On our tours, we teach you how to photograph the Northern Lights using your own camera or phone, and we also take professional photos of you under the sky.

Booking with us means:
• Small groups for a personal experience
• Real aurora hunting — not staying in one fixed location
• Professional photography guidance
• High‑quality photos included
• Warm clothing, hot drinks, and snacks
• Pick‑up from your accommodation
• Local guides with years of experience in Arctic weather

Tips for you when it comes to Northern Lights Tours in Rovaniemi

1 / Do your own research

Check the prices, check the reviews and verify the company you are booking the tour with. Start with the lowest rated reviews on Google Maps and TripAdvisor. High number of review doesn't mean great service and low number of reviews doesn't mean bad service.

2 / Do your own research

Make sure you don't get ripped off, normal tour should cost 90 to 120 euros from 3 to 5 hours, if the tour is longer then it should be 130-140 max. If you book 12 hours tour, you will get tired and yes you probably will see the lights but there are dangers that come with long night tours in Finnish Lapland during winters. Dangers of accidents, tiredness, risk of animal collision and many other  things you should consider before joining long hour tours.

Compare the prices and see what is included, make sure the tour operator is fully doing what they promised they would do.

3 / Prepare

Eat well before going on tour and do  your bathroom business, take with you 2 pairs of handwarmers and also water on board. You never know how far you will go and you should always be prepared for extreme weather conditions. Don't wear a lot of clothes while you are sitting on the van, try not to sweat and keep your body dry. Moisture will attract cold and you will get sick fast if you don't take care of yourself.
