February in Lapland started off with the kind of winter magic we all dream about. The first two weeks brought crisp, clear skies, perfect snow conditions, and ideal weather for outdoor adventures. It was a fantastic time for Northern Lights hunting, with many of our guests treated to breathtaking displays of the aurora dancing across the Arctic sky.

However, from around the 20th of February, the weather took an unexpected turn. Unusually mild temperatures moved in, bringing cloudy skies and rain—conditions that are rare for this time of year in Lapland. While the aurora activity has remained strong, the persistent cloud cover has made it challenging to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.

This shift in weather has been a reminder of how dynamic and unpredictable nature can be, even in the Arctic. While we can’t control the skies, we’re always working to provide our guests with unforgettable experiences, whether it’s through snowshoeing under the twilight, exploring frozen forests, or cozying up in a traditional Lappish hut.

We’re keeping a close eye on the forecasts and hoping for clearer skies soon. In the meantime, Lapland’s charm and beauty remain as captivating as ever, and we’re here to help you make the most of your visit, no matter what the weather brings.

Stay tuned for updates, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re planning a trip—we’ll make sure your adventure is magical, rain or shine!

We managed to see auroras by travelling also 560 km in a single night, so we always do our best!
